Costs & Medical Insurance
I am happy to see patients privately that are self-funding or who have private medical insurance. I am recognised as a Consultant Urological Surgeon by all the major insurance companies including; BUPA, AXA PPP, WPA, Cigna, Aviva, SimplyHealth etc. If you have insurance you should contact your insurer before coming to see me to confirm that they will cover the costs and to obtain a 'pre-authorisation' number. Please bring this and your policy details with you if possible. They will normally insist on a referral letter from your GP.
With private medical insurance it is vital to explore the full extent of your policy, as policies do differ in what they cover. It is important to realize that you are responsible for all of your consultants fees, with the contract that you enter into being between the consultant and not the insurance company.
If you are opting to self-pay, 'package prices' are available on request for most of the commonly performed urological procedures. These may differ slightly between different private hospitals. If you require a quotation for consultation or treatment costs please contact us. Although not absolutely necessary I would still encourage you to obtain a referral letter from your GP.
Fees
My fees are £200 for a new consultation and £140 for a follow up visit.
